The Danish Food Industry Agency supports development and production in the entire food industry and contributes to the formation of policies of The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries.
The main objective of The Danish Food Industry Agency (FødevareErhverv) is to carry out the industrial policy of the ministry.
We support development and production in the food industry in order to:
- promote the sale of healthy and secure food
- boost the competitiveness of the food industry
while making sure that due consideration to the environment is shown in the production of food.
Our activities include:
- metering out subsidies to farmers and fishermen
- administration of the Law of Land Holdings
- administration of the law of land consolidation and acquisition of land
- checking the grantees and the administration of subsidies
Subsidy schemes and staff
The Agency pays out app. 10,5 billion DKK in subsidies to farmers, fishermen, companies in the food business, research institutions, etc. Fully 9,5 billion DKK are financed by the EU.
There is a staff of app. 400, and the directorate has its head office in Copenhagen and an office in Tønder in Jutland.
